6 CLOTHES YOU CAN WEAR INSIDE A 2 PERSON INFRARED SAUNA

As a 2 person infrared sauna owner, you want to have a general idea about which clothes to wear in a sauna. For optimal comfort as you slip away into deep bliss, you should choose certain materials. You can also choose accessories like the sauna suit to help you enhance wonderful weight loss benefits. For a comfortable experience with every session, here are 6 clothes you can wear inside a 2-person infrared sauna.

CAN I WEAR CLOTHES IN AN INFRARED SAUNA?

Some sauna goers prefer to do so in the nude. The Finns are responsible for creating the sauna experience. As experts, they say that the sauna experience is better this way. Of course, if you are relaxing with someone else, clothing might be necessary. You can in fact wear clothes in an infrared sauna. Here are a few options:

PROPER ATTIRE FOR A SAUNA

Whether alone or with friends, you want to be sure that your sauna attire is best for your body. The following clothing items allow your skin to breathe and will help you keep your sauna clean:

1. TOWEL

Whether you decide to relax with clothing or without, you will need a towel while inside your sauna. Here are a few tips and tricks:

  • You can place a towel on your sauna bench where you sit.
  • A soft, cotton towel will work best. It will be the most comfortable option.
  • This will soak up sweat and keep bacteria from spreading.
  • Towels also help you keep your sauna clean and tidy. This is highly important if you decide to relax with guests.
  • Using a towel will also keep you from wearing PVC fabrics while you soak up the heat rays.
  • The Finns say that the sauna is best when you are only wearing a towel around your waist.
  • Consider installing an Almost Heaven Sauna Double Robe Hook to serve as a towel holder.

2. SWIMSUIT

Wearing a swimsuit in your sauna might quite naturally be your first idea. Swimsuits are okay for use as infrared sauna clothes when worn correctly. If not, they can be harmful. Here’s more information:

  • Avoid swimsuits that have dangling decorative pieces. The attached jewelry and metal pieces should be avoided as well. These accessories can burn your skin when they get hot.
  • If your swimsuit is made using PVC material, your skin cannot breathe while you relax.
  • Not allowing your skin to breathe means you absorb more heat than you need. This can cause dehydration and discomfort.
  • PVC fabric can melt when it gets too hot. It might let off toxic fumes and chemicals as well.
  • Wear a swimsuit made using natural materials. It should also have a loose fit if possible. This allows better airflow to your skin.

3. COTTON

If you want to avoid the hassle of trying to pick the right bathing suit, wear cotton while in your sauna instead. This option might not be as stylish, but it is definitely safer and healthier.

  • For starters, be sure that your cotton clothing is clean. Wearing dirty clothes in a sauna is not good for your skin or hygiene.
  • You can use a large t-shirt that you use for sleepwear for optimal comfort.
  • Be sure that clothing always has a loose fit. You can wear a cotton wrap or shorts as well.
  • Cotton is perfect for absorbing excess heat waves. It also allows your skin to breathe properly.
  • Even with cotton clothing, you should still keep a towel close by.  Sit on it to keep your sauna clean and help you stay away from bacteria.
  • Do not wear tight cotton undergarments. Ladies, if you decide to wear a bra, be sure that there is no wire inside.

4. SHOWER SHOES

If you decide to relax in pure bliss alone, or with your spouse, wearing certain footwear while inside your sauna is fine. Remember these tips:

  • Wearing normal shoes inside your sauna is not a good idea. The shoes will bring in dirt and not allow your feet to breathe.
  • Shower shoes are fine for 2-person infrared sauna use. They help you avoid bacteria like an athlete’s foot. They also help keep your sauna pristine.
  • If you decide to sauna a small group, be mindful of their comfort. For example, if you relax on the upper bench, placing your shower shoes on the lower bench where others are is inconsiderate.

WHAT TO WEAR IN A SAUNA TO LOSE WEIGHT

What to wear in a sauna in losing weight

Infrared saunas are especially known for their amazing weight loss benefits. For example, the deep penetrating waves of the Therasauna Classic 2-Person Infrared Sauna are good for detoxification.

This is perfect for weight loss. There are two clothing items that help enhance these benefits -- the sauna suit and the sauna belt. Here’s how they work:

  • Sauna suits and belts work to raise your core temperature like your sauna’s heatwaves.
  • These clothing articles trap the heat and make you sweat even more.
  • This sheds water weight for short-term weight loss. It also boosts your metabolism and improves your blood flow for long-term weight loss.

5. SAUNA SUIT

Most people view the sauna suit as a waterproof tracksuit, which is correct. It works by retaining body heat and sweat. By holding heat in, your body sweats more. Here is more information and a few health benefits of the sauna suit for weight loss:

  • Several scientific studies show that using a sauna suit helps with lowering blood pressure and cholesterol.
  • In a specific study, the suits also caused the waist sizes of the test subjects to go down.
  • Test subjects who wore sauna suits also lost more body weight and body fat than those who did not.
  • The patients saw VO2 max improvement as well. This is a way to measure the endurance of your cardiovascular system.
  • The sauna suit users’ bodies increased fat oxidation. This helps your body use fat for fuel. Their metabolic rate increased too, which helps you burn calories even while your body is resting.

6. SAUNA BELT

The sauna belt is a corset, or wideband, made of neoprene, rubber, PVC, or other materials that restrict airflow. Similar to the sauna suit, the trapped heat makes your body sweat more. Here’s more information:

  • Because of the material, long-term wear while in your sauna can cause issues. Use your sauna belt during short sessions.
  • These belts are usually worn on the stomach area. They can be used anywhere, on arms or legs for example.
  • The sauna belt is different from a normal exercise belt because it can self-heat. Leave the heating option off during sauna use. The room will provide enough heat.
  • This method is better for getting rid of water weight. It does not help you cut back on calories because it does not provide resistance to the body.
  • Using the heating method on your sauna belt helps ease sore muscles. It also increases their blood flow and makes them flexible. As a result, you will experience better workouts.
  • They work amazingly for back pain. Simply wear for 15-20 minutes for mild pain or up to 2 hours for severe pain.
  • The sauna belt can be worn anywhere. The heat will allow you to sweat while completing everyday activities.

Here are 4 clothing items you should stay away from while you relax in your sauna:

  1. Dirty Clothing – The heat might cause the dust that is in the clothes to loosen up. You do not want those particles in the air. They can cause your skin to break out as well.
  2. Workout Attire -- Try to avoid any PVC-made items if possible. They can melt when exposed to high temperatures.
  3. Jewelry - Metal items can burn you. Avoid nose, belly, eyebrow, etc. piercings as well.
  4. Lotion - Creams will clog your pores and make a mess when you sweat.

SUMMARY

Knowing what to wear while you relax in your 2-person infrared sauna will keep you safe and comfortable. It can also help you lose weight as you enjoy your therapeutic investment. Be sure to wear a towel to help you keep your sauna clean for decades of use. Wear material like cotton that allows your skin to breathe while your tired muscles enjoy soothing relief. Also, go further on your weight loss journey by wearing a sauna suit or sauna belt for the best results. Take this information into consideration as you select the best infrared sauna for your needs.
